As per media reports, the Punjab Home Ministry has banned meeting former Prime Minister Imran Khan for two weeks in Adiala Jail.
Imran Khan is serving a total jail term of 31 years in different cases. He was meeting his family, party members, lawyers, and media personnel in his jail. Authorities claim the ban has been placed due to security and safety concerns.
His family and lawyers were expected to meet him today. Media too has been stopped from coverage of Adiala jail. The security officers claim that the media team is ordered to stay away 2 km from Adiala jail.
Tuesday and Thursday were reserved for meeting with Imran Khan by Adiala jail authorities.
In a coordinated effort last week, the Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and local police successfully thwarted a potential attack on Adiala jail and apprehended three terrorists. The suspects were found in possession of explosives, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and a detailed map of the prison.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani reported that the joint operation was conducted based on intelligence received about the terrorists’ presence in the vicinity.

Earlier, addressing the media at Adiala Jail, Khan emphasized the necessity of identifying the perpetrators of the May 9 unrest, drawing a parallel with the apprehension of individuals involved in the Capitol Hill incident through CCTV footage. He queried the delay in establishing a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 incident, expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of transparent inquiry and stressing the imperative of holding the culprits accountable.
Imran Khan, made a fervent demand on Wednesday for the punishment of those accountable for the tumultuous events of May 9, echoing the sentiments expressed in the statement from the Corps Commanders’ Conference issued by ISPR the previous day. “I endorse the declaration of the CCC.
