The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) has reportedly canceled the practicing license of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah. PTI lawyer and nephew of Imran Khan, Hassan Niazi revealed the news on Twitter.
According to details, the PBC canceled the license of Rana Sanaullah who had also served as the Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Punjab from 2008 to 2018. The cancelation of his license comes due to the alleged torture of lawyers in Islamabad during PTI’s Azadi March.
“Punjab Bar Council has canceled the license of Rana Sanaullah. They have ceased his license to practice law. He was involved in torture, arrest, and fake FIRs on lawyers. The case of FIR against him is currently in Lahore High Court. Inshallah lawyers will get justice,” Hassan Niazi tweeted.

Earlier this month, a Lahore district and sessions court ordered the registration of cases against Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and others against police torture of PTI workers during party’s recently held Azadi March towards Islamabad.
Advocate Haider Majeed had filed an application in the Lahore sessions court, seeking the registration of cases against the interior minister and Punjab police officials under Section-166(1), 352, and 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The petitioner and his colleagues were boarding their vehicle when they were pulled over by the police. They were “baton-charged, humiliated, disgraced and their vehicle was damaged badly” even though they were cooperating with law enforcers.
Rana Sanaullah ready for more violence?
While 25th May’s Azadi March was a violent one, it seems that phase two of the long march will also be chaotic. The Interior Minister had earlier warned PTI that he will not let the protestors cross the barriers this time around.
“I am warning PTI against the announcement of another long march. One thing I want to illustrate, as soon as the long March is announced ‘let them come and I’ll see how they cross the barriers this time’,” Rana Sanaullah tweeted.

Wednesday, PTI even approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan against arrests and blockades during the long march and asked the apex court to provide protection against these tactics in the future.
