According to social media claims, 500 bodies were found. However, investigative reports that analyzed the videos claim that the bodies were around 20. Many bodies also had organs missing.

Former Minister Moonis Elahi revealed that the university authority said the bodies were allegedly handed over by the police to Nishtar Medical University for post-mortem and if needed for teaching purposes to MBBS students.

Moreover, the university said that bodies were already foul-smelling and decaying and could not even be used for teaching purposes. Therefore, after putrefaction, the bones are retrieved for medical purposes and the bodies are buried properly later.

While the university defends the bodies on its roof, netizens are raising a storm on social media nevertheless and are condemning the manhandling of the bodies.
