Punjab Police has introduced a women’s safety application following the rising cases of violence against women. The application will enable women to contact police through the application in case of an emergency.
Women can text police through the application. Inspector General Punjab Police Inam Ghani shared a video tutorial of the application and urged women to download the application. He urged that the protection of women is the priority of the Punjab Police.
“All ladies are requested to download the app and keep it handy. All gentlemen are requested to send it to every lady in their families. Please post it to all WhatsApp groups,” said Inam Ghani on Twitter.

A special squad will rush to the location of the victim once the complaint is launched. He maintained that the application will soon be launched in all districts of Punjab. A special squad will be formed in this regard.
Social media users have appreciated the initiative of the Punjab Police. They, however, have urged the police to work on the response time. Several female social media users said that they have already downloaded the application.
Netizens said they expect the police to swiftly act on the complaints registered by women on the application. The late response will render the application useless. A social media user suggested that there should be a ‘help’ button added to the application.
