Qasim Suri retorts to criticism from Dost Muhammad Mazari

In a tweet on Wednesday, Dost Mazari said: “I have refused to become Qasim Suri. I cannot commit treason against the constitution. Imran Khan can label me as a traitor". Not holding back, Qasim Suri hit back at Dost Mazari.

PTI’s Qasim Khan Suri retorts to scathing remarks from Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari.

In a bold move, PTI has submitted a no-confidence motion against the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly. Important to note, that Dost Muhammad Mazari is a PTI-backed deputy speaker to the secretary of the provincial assembly.

According to details, the resolution against Mazari contained the signatures of PTI’s provincial assembly members. They submitted it based on distrust against him.

The move comes after Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari decided to summon a session today, instead of April 16. While speaking to the media, Dost Mazari said that the secretariat staff of the Punjab Assembly was not “cooperating” with him.

Moreover, as per media reports, he said that the advocate-general of Punjab had stated before the Supreme Court that the session will be held today.

“I did not consult the Punjab government, PTI, or the speaker. I summoned the Assembly session in light of the Supreme Court’s orders,” said Mazari.

Qasim Suri hits back at Dost Mazari

In a tweet on Wednesday, Dost Mazari said: “I have refused to become Qasim Suri. I cannot commit treason against the constitution. Imran Khan can label me as a traitor.”

To which Qasim Suri said: “You cannot become Qasim Khan Suri because to become Qasim Khan Suri you need fidelity, bravery, passion, love of earth mother, hatred of slavery, freedom of mind, living conscience. He took the vote and the Deputy Speakership in the name of Imran Khan and sold it to the slaves of Zameer Farangis. You are a traitor and a slave.”

Earlier, a picture of Qasim Suri standing with the portrait of Sher Shah Suri. Deputy Speaker, Qasim Suri has been trending on Indian and Pakistan media outlets since Sunday. Qasim Suri took the seat in the National Assembly of Pakistan after the opposition had filed a no-confidence motion against Speaker National Assembly, Asad Qaiser.

Hence, Qasim Suri chaired the final proceedings of the no-confidence motion on Sunday, April 3rd. Qasim Khan Suri rejected the no-confidence motion under Article 5 of the Constitution of Pakistan, ending the session in five minutes. He announced his decision to dismiss the No Confidence Move after Law Minister, Fawad Chaudhry, objected to the move under Article 5 of the Constitution. Endorsing the objections, Qasim Suri rejected the NCM against PM Imran Khan.
