Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri says he could not be a part of the process of electing Shahbaz Sharif as the new prime minister (PM) hence he left the session.
He said that he cannot condone the election of legislature nominated under corruption cases in the assembly. “My conscience does not allow me to see the man who has corruption cases of Rs. 16 billion and Rs.8 billion and who was to be formally charged in the cases today as the next prime minister of Pakistan. May Allah protect Pakistan. Amen,” said Qasim Suri in a tweet.
He left and asked Ayaz Sadiq to chair the session. Suri is once again receiving praise on social media for his fiery speech in the National Assembly.

“Slaves of foreign powers are involved in a regime change. My ruling was for Pakistan and I will take pride in it my whole life,” said Suri. He said that the conspiracy of regime change is being implemented in Pakistan. He added that the commission has been formed to probe the conspiracy in the country.
He argued that Supreme Court did not review the decision by the National Security Committee that was endorsed by all the institutions. “Had they reviewed it [the ruling], they would have endorsed it,” he added. The Supreme Court had reversed the decision and called it ‘unconstitutional’.
