Rana Sana booked on charges of terrorism

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah was charged with terrorism on Thursday by the Punjab government for allegedly threatening government officials and the court in speeches on April 15, 2021, and January 29, 2022.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah was charged with terrorism on Thursday by the Punjab government for allegedly threatening government officials and the court in speeches on April 15, 2021, and January 29, 2022.

On the basis of a citizen’s complaint, an FIR was filed under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (punishment for acts of terrorism) as well as Sections 353 (assault or criminal force to prevent a public servant from performing his duties), 186 (obstructing a public servant from performing his duties), 189 (threat to injure a public servant), and Section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the lawsuit, the interior minister threatened to prevent the judiciary from carrying out its duties during speeches he gave on April 15, 2021, and January 29, 2022.

The FIR also included a reproduction of his comments, which it said were recently broadcast on various news channels of Pakistan.

“The purpose of Sanaullah’s statements was to terrorise the judiciary, chief secretary, commissioner and people of the country,” the FIR said. “His aim was to stop the officials from working and prevent them from fulfilling their lawful responsibilities.”

It continued by saying that the nation, the police, the government, and the court were all now terrified as a result of the minister’s comments.

Sanaullah should also be investigated for his remarks, and he should be punished, it was said in the FIR, “to set an example for other individuals speaking out against government officials.”

Moonis Elahi, the leader of the PML-Q, also posted on social media about the allegations that Sanaullah had launched a “fake case” against Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI. He said that the minister would soon be taken into custody and stated that “now the people have created a true case against you.”
