Reham Khan criticizes PML-N after humiliating defeat

Not holding back, Reham Khan said PML-N needs to determine whose fault the defeat was, simultaneously sharing that she thought the leadership is to blame.

The former wife of PTI Chairman, Reham Khan, is actively criticizing PML-N after the ruling party faced a humiliating defeat in Punjab by-polls.

In a major achievement, PTI wrested control of Punjab back from the PML-N with a landslide victory in the by-election on 20 constituencies. PTI won 15 constituencies, dealing a major blow to the PML-N, who only clinched four.

Reham Khan took to Twitter to criticize PML-N, saying that the party might have been “cursed”. Important to note that Reham Khan is very critical of PTI which led to many accusing her of being pro-PML-N.

“I’ve heard that Pervez Elahi imprecated curses on the PML-N,” Reham Khan, who is also a former journalist, quipped in a tweet after PTI bagged 15 out of the 20 constituencies up for grabs in the Punjab by-polls a day earlier.

Who is at fault for PML-N defeat?

Not holding back, Reham Khan said PML-N needs to determine whose fault the defeat was, simultaneously sharing that she thought the leadership is to blame.

“Is PML-N going to continue to follow their political gurus on media? Will they now see sense? I for one will not be holding my breath. Rank and file in PML-N assigned to find who messed it up…errr I think it’s the leadership,” Reham Khan tweeted.

“Maybe the party workers stand with the PML-N leadership. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if leadership would stand by the worker too? Clearly, the top tier was wrong! The worker was right,” Reham Khan added.

On the other hand, PML-N believes that it lost because it had to make unpopular decisions and had to face difficult challenges, for instance, inflation. PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif is reported to have blamed “difficult decisions” taken by the coalition government, referring to mammoth hikes in prices of petroleum products and electricity tariffs among others to secure an IMF deal.
