Religious scholar Nasir Madni tortured for video on coronavirus

Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar took notice of the cleric's case in which he said he was abducted, physically tortured and even asked for money. He even showed bruises and marks of torture during a press conference. Nasir Madni is a firebrand cleric who frequently uploads his videos on YouTube.

Religious scholar Nasir Madni filed a complaint against his abduction and torture. Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar took notice of the cleric’s case in which he said he was abducted, physically tortured and even asked for money.

Police, however, has said that it will take action accordingly after Nasir Madni’s medical examination.

 

Nasir Madni explained his ordeal in a press conference on Monday. In which he said he was kidnapped by unknown men and asked for extortion money. During a physical assault, he said his clothes were stripped off and he was filmed naked.

He informed that while he was beaten, his abductors snatched his phone and asked for his YouTube password.

“They ran the news that I am suffering from coronavirus,” said Madni. He said the unknown men kidnapped him after contacting him from an unknown international number to lead prayers in the Kharian area.

They also warned him not to go public with the details of his kidnapping or inform police of the incident.

 

He informed that he arrived at a restaurant where he was invited for his dinner. Afterward, the suspect urged him to come to the home to meet his mother.

Nasir Madni said that instead of taking him home they took him to a dera where 10 masked men assaulted him. They also forced him to sign the two blank papers.

As per the unconfirmed reports on social media, the followers of another preacher allegedly abducted Nasir Madni for mocking and thrashing another preacher during his video on pandemic coronavirus.

Nasir Madni has appealed Prime Minister Imran Khan, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to provide him security and take action against his tormentors.
