Pakistani actress Resham picks up trash to make up for her mistake of throwing plastic thrash in the river last week.
On Monday, the actress took to social media and posted her new video of picking up trash from the streets. Resham said the recent incident was a ‘steep learning curve for her.
“The last few days have been a steep learning curve for me and I want to thank everyone, especially my well-wishers, who sought to guide me and correct me, using kindness and love, instead of condemnation for the sake of personal clout,” her caption began with some context behind what informed her “litter cleaning initiative.”

The actress added that she hopes her actions will soothe her fans who were left disappointed after she ‘absent-mindedly’ threw plastic trash in the river. “Pakistan is our home and it is right that we should keep it clean. So what better way to demonstrate this than through an example? I took part in a litter cleaning initiative which I hope will go some way to soothing any hurt that I may have inadvertently caused you and our people. Let’s make Pakistan cleaner and kinder. Sending you all my warmest wishes. This is a new beginning for me and us all.”
Resham had received intense backlash when she was spotted throwing plastic trash in the river while feeding the aquatic animals. She further gained backlash when she used ‘women being raped’ as an excuse to counter criticism.
Unable to satisfy her fans, Resham issued a formal apology in a video message. “First of all, please accept my apology because what happened shouldn’t have happened. It happened because of my carelessness and was not intentional. For that, apologize to the entire nation.”
She went on to clarify, “I am against littering, polluting, and agree that keeping our country clean is our responsibility. I’m also human and every human makes mistakes, this was mine.”
She called it the biggest mistake of her career and asked fans to accept her apology wholeheartedly.
