Pakistan Super League (PSL) founded in 2015 in Lahore, was held for the first time in 2016. Its second and third editions were held in the consecutive years.
This year’s event, PSL4 formally, and ‘HBL PSL officially, will kick-start on February 14, 2019, with the opening ceremony being held in the UAE. The final match of the six-team tournament is scheduled on Sunday, March 17, 2019, in Karachi.
One of the teams, Karachi Kings, captained by Imad Wasim, will be playing its first match against the Multan Sultans in Dubai on Friday, February 15, at 1630 hrs.
Rooh Afza–a fine beverage based on Tibb-i-Unani formulation referred to as ‘The Original Red Drink’– this year has become the gold sponsor of Karachi Kings.
Rooh Afza’s cooling effect is long lasting for it not only instantly quenches the thirst but also rapidly cools the entire system and gives back the body the vigor, vitality, and freshness depleted by excessive heat. In addition to its popularity as a drink mixed in water, Rooh Afza is also a strong favorite mixed in milk, fresh lime or yogurt, plus it has a plethora of other uses, such as being the vital ingredient in home-made ice cream, sorbet, slush, smoothies, sundaes and many other sweet and savory dishes; something almost every other child of country can relate to.
Rooh Afza has received “Halal Certificate” and also received a certificate from Pakistan Standard & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) for its best and consistent quality.
It is a syrup-like concentrate which is mixed with water (or whatever the user wishes) to make a sweet drink. But nothing in that bare description can hope to convey just how well it lives up to its name. Perhaps the closest anyone could come to putting it into words was that journalist of the ‘Saveur’ magazine of USA a renowned authority on food and drink – who, in 2007, not only listed it among the top ten brands of the world in its list of 100, but called it an ‘heavenly elixir’! Millions of diehard fans couldn’t agree more.
At home, Rooh Afza has been receiving the Best Export Trophy for 22 consecutive years from the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). In addition, it has also won the Consumers’ Choice Award for 10 consecutive years from the Consumer Association of Pakistan (CAP) since 2005, as well as the Brands of the Year Award 10 years running since 2006-2007 and the Brands Icon of Pakistan Award in 2008 and 2010.

Rooh Afza has received “Halal Certificate” and also received a certificate from Pakistan Standard & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) for its best and consistent quality. Rooh Afza has been enjoyed by successive generations for over 100 years and is still growing worldwide.
In addition to being a sponsor, Rooh Afza will be featured heavily in the official Karachi Kings song. It will also be present in the dugouts during matches. The step of Rooh Afza to sponsor the Karachi Kings indicates its willingness to reach out to the Youth Bulge of Pakistan.
Unlike the World Cup, PSL excites every Pakistani be a cricket-fan or not. Not only, PSL has generated business for the country, the best outcome of it is the restoration of Pakistan’s image globally and depiction of it as a peace-loving nation, enjoying a secure environment where not only international players are welcomed but given immense love and respect too.

While Rooh Afza is considered a vital part of human meals especially during Ramazan, it is too often considered to be a “drink of old people”. In an attempt to integrate with the youth, Rooh Afza is pursuing many new ways. An example could be its collaboration with Sprite last year in which it encouraged the mixing of the two refreshments.
Through its sponsoring of the Karachi Kings, Rooh Afza aims to build up a rapport with the Youth bulge by indulging in two interests; Sports and Music.
