Pakistani actress Sajal Aly came under intense social media trolling after her Namaste gesture in a video made rounds on social media.
The video clip is posted from the launching ceremony of the new video platform. She allegedly made a Namaste gesture while interacting with media at the event. Aly came under strict on social media.
Netizens slammed the actress for doing an alleged Namaste gesture quite a few times. Some said that she could have shown gratitude by waving her hand. One of the users said, “What’s wrong with these sisters, we don’t do Namaste.”

“Is she Hindu?,” wrote a girl on Instagram. Another user said, “Why do they do 🙏 namaste? Don’t they have any gesture of their own .when they’ll realize that following others don’t make them stand out.”
Despite social media backlash, Sajal Aly is appearing in a series of international and local projects. She is currently appearing in a TV serial Kuch Ankahi along with Bilal Abbas. Aly has also appeared in the film “What’s Love Got To Do With It”. The film has been produced by Jemima Goldsmith and is expected for screening in Pakistan this month.

While introducing Sajal Aly to the audience, Shekhar Kapur called her ‘one of the greatest actresses of Pakistan’. He added, “Do you know when you first came on the screen at the first showing, every man in the hall gasped!” The filmmaker then added, “She’s one of Pakistan’s greatest actresses and she’s brilliant. Thank you very much, Sajal.”
