Sana Bucha’s bitter reaction to PTI’s victory draws criticism

A majority of the public is celebrating PML-N's defeat in Punjab by polls, however, Sana Bucha is receiving criticism for her views on PTI's victory.

Anchor and political commentator Sana Bucha has become the target of much trolling and criticism on social media for her seemingly bitter reaction to PTI’s win in Sunday’s by-poll election.

In a major achievement, PTI wrested control of Punjab back from the PML-N with a landslide victory in the by-election on 20 constituencies. PTI won 15 constituencies, dealing a major blow to the PML-N, who only clinched four.

PTI’s victory on 20 seats of the Punjab Assembly is of paramount importance as it will now decide the fate of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz. To clarify, with a now majority, PTI is likely to defeat PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz when a recount of votes for the chief minister election takes place on July 22.

A majority of the public is celebrating PTI’s victory, however, Sana Bucha is receiving criticism for her views on the party’s victory. While talking on a private media channel, Sana Bucha claimed that the PTI won by-polls mainly because young voters, who have no understanding of politics, cast their votes in the party’s favor.

“Look at the voting trend of how many young people came out to vote who have never voted before. They do not understand elections, Imran Khan’s politics, or this country’s politics…these are not real elections,” Sana Bucha said.

Needless to say, her statements did not sit well with PTI supporters who criticized her and said she cannot deny the vote of young people, as they are also well-informed.

Sana Bucha crying?

Furthermore, netizens also called out Sana Bucha’s body language as she seemed very agitated on the show.

“Genius analyst now saying that PTI won because 18 years olds voted who don’t understand Pakistan politics. Why don’t you outrightly say that you don’t believe in democracy? Why the bitter weeping?” one Twitter user.

“Look at her body language. An 18-year-old could be more smooth on TV than her. I mean her party is losing and she is getting her anger out on a voter. Well ma’am the Pakistani youth is well informed,” another user wrote.
