Sarah Palin warns harassers she carries a gun

News Desk |

American politician Sarah Palin says she does not encounter sexual harassment because she carries a gun with herself.

Sarah Palin is an American politician and remained a Governor of Alaska between 2006 and 2009. She was also the one-time Republican nominee for Vice President of United States in 2008.

In an interview with US-based news network, Palin was asked, “Have you ever experienced sexual harassment in the workplace as an ambitious woman in public life?”

To which she replied, “You know a whole lot of people know that I’m probably packing- so I don’t think there’s a whole lot of people who would necessarily mess with me.”

But she added that she does not want to be lighthearted since this is a very serious issue. According to her its good that people have finally started talking about the sexual harassment faced by women at the workplace. It is essential to address this to ensure equality in the workplace for women.

Ms Palin told MSNBC: “It really stinks for women in the workplace that, for too long, men have thought that they can get away with kind of being that that old-school thinking that it’s OK to belittle and harass women, in general.”

The former Governor made these comments following sexual misconduct allegations made against several politicians including Democratic Senator Al Franken.

The recent sexual assault allegations are made by Leeann Tweeden, the host of ‘TalkRadio’ 790 KABC. She has accused the Minnesota senator of forcibly kissing and groping her in 2006 before he entered politics.

She wrote on the radio website, “You forcibly kissed me without my consent, grabbed my breasts while I was sleeping.”

But according to a news publication site, Mr Franklin has issued an apology for his misconduct. He said “I don’t know what was in my head when I took that picture, and it doesn’t matter. There’s no excuse. I look at it now and I feel disgusted with myself. It isn’t funny. It’s completely inappropriate. It’s obvious how Leeann would feel violated by that picture.”
