Pakistani singer Shae Gill confronted backlash on social media after she posted prayers for slain Indian singer Sidhu Moose Wala.
She hit back at trolls calling her out for praying for Sidhu Moose Wala. A score of social media users said that she can pray for Sidhu Moose Wala due to religion.
The Pasoori singer in her post had said: “Heartbroken. May his soul rest in peace and may his family and friends have the strength to bear this loss.”
After which the singer started receiving backlash in her DMs on Instagram that she should not pray for a non-Muslim.
The message she received read, “As a Muslim, you are not allowed to make dua for non-Muslims when they die.”

Responding to it, the singer wrote, “I’ve been getting a lot of such messages. Just wanted to inform everyone that I am not a Muslim.”
“I am a Christian, belong to a Christian family and can make prayers for people from different religions,” Gill added.
The singer also shared the message she has received from people sending her messages of support and love. She expressed gratitude to the people for sending her messages of appreciation.
Gill said, “Mostly getting such messages now and it’s heartwarming.”
The singer continued: “I honestly wouldn’t have announced it like that but I got sick of people thinking they could police me by that standard.”
However, trolls did not stop and continued to bash her. Responding to them, the singer said that she will block such people. She said she reads messages whenever she gets time.
Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead over 30 times on Sunday. According to the Police, at least eight to ten attackers opened fire on him. After firing him 30 times, the attackers checked him if he was alive. According to the details, Sidhu Moosewala left his house with his cousin Gurpreet Singh and neighbor Gurwinder Singh at 4.30 pm on Sunday. Moose Wala was driving the car.
