Dr. Shahbaz Gill member of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf slammed the designer Maria B after she posted her latest video following the release of her husband. She also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan and army officials for their alleged intervention in the release of her husband.
Maria B in the video claimed that her husband was released after the alleged involvement of senior government and army officials otherwise she had lost all her hope.
She accused the provincial government of Punjab for harassing them. She said officials from 5-6 departments contacted them to confirm if they had their servant tested for coronavirus. They asked for the details of their chef which they provided.
She claimed that they cooperated with the government officials but coordination was lacking among the government officials themselves. Adding this lack of coordination and exchange of misinformation between the officials led to the undue arrest of her husband.
The designer claimed that Punjab Police misbehaved with her husband.
Maria B claimed that they had explained their servant the precautions needed and gave him money. She said, her servant insisted to go home in his village where his extended family would take care of him which they agreed to.
Shahbaz Gill strongly reacted to her video accusing Punjab government officials. He said that instead of apologizing to the public for their negligence they are shamelessly slamming the government officials. He also regretted the justice system that quickly releases such people on bail who risk the lives of other people and brazenly lie.
Meanwhile, social media users also reacted to her assertions giving an expression that Prime Minister Imran Khan and army officials intervened for the release of Maria B’s husband. They demanded an explanation from the PTI officials on her assertions of PM Khan’s intervention for the release of the designer’s husband.
Earlier, Punjab Police had reportedly arrested Malik Tahir Saeed, the husband of designer Maria B.

Punjab Police claims one of the servants of the designer was tested positive for the coronavirus. Instead of informing the authorities about their servant’s positive coronavirus test they sent the servant to the village, who reportedly reached Vehari by changing two buses.
Reportedly, Police say it is the criminal negligence of the family of Maria B not to inform the authorities and had their servant admitted to the hospital. Police claims despite being a coronavirus patient, the domestic servant of Maria B traveled by other passengers on the bus thus risking the lives of people and accelerating the spread of coronavirus in the area.
Besides other social media users, several celebrities also weighed in on the controversy. While Osman Khalid Butt expressed annoyance on the irresponsible behavior of designer Maria B and her husband, Hamza Ali Abbasi denounced the arrest of Malik Tahir Saeed and claimed that they are ‘nice people who have been wronged.’
Also M.Jibran Nasir criticized the strict rules set by the authorities on civil negligence regarding coronavirus.
However, several social media users claimed that Malik Tahir Saeed was released on bail since it is a bailable offence.
