Shahbaz leaves for London

PML-N president and opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Shahbaz Sharif has left for London. According to media reports Shahbaz Sharif has flown to London by a private airlines QR-621. He had obtained his own and his wife Nusrat Shahbaz multiple visas for the UK and he had also obtained visas in respect of his mother and 4 servants.

Shahbaz Sharif has gone to London for his medical checkup and consultation with a physician. During his visit to London, he will also inquire about the welfare of his granddaughter and wife of Shahbaz Sharif.

The interior ministry had issued notification regarding foreign travel ban on Shahbaz Sharif as the cabinet had taken the decision on a request by the NAB, from whose custody Shahbaz was released on bail.

Confirming about his visit to London Shahbaz said in his twitter, “Almighty Allah has blessed my younger son with a son and my elder son with a daughter after 20 years of his marriage. The baby girl had to undergo major heart surgery after one week of her birth. I am going to London in such circumstances so that I could see my grandson and granddaughter. I will return home soon after my medical checkup.”

“Because of Judicial grace exercised by Honourable courts, I am now on bail and my name has been taken off the ECL. In these circumstances, I am going to take a quick visit to London to see my grandchildren & go through my own medical checkup and return soon IA,” wrote Shahbaz.

A two-member bench of Lahore High Court on Mar 26 had ordered the removal of Shahbaz’s name from Exit Control List (ECL) as the counsel argued that his client’s name was placed on ECL despite appearing before NAB whenever summoned.

The interior ministry had issued notification regarding foreign travel ban on Shahbaz Sharif as the cabinet had taken the decision on a request by the NAB, from whose custody Shahbaz was released on bail.

The NAB had arrested Shahbaz on October 5, 2018, in connection with the Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme case. The PML-N president was released from sub-jail on February 15, a day after the Lahore High Court granted him bail in Ashiana-e-Iqbal and Ramzan Sugar Mills cases.
