Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has announced his foundation will work to restore the public library in KP. He announced in a tweet on Tuesday.
The matter came to the attention of the former cricketer Shahid Afridi after an internet user posted the images of the dilapidated public library, which is in fact the only library in Tank District, KP. It’s being dumped with heaps of garbage.

The internet user called for the urgent attention of the authorities to restore it for the local people. Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi came forward and took up the responsibility to restore the library. His namesake foundation, Shahid Afridi Foundation, will restore the library.
“It’s heart-wrenching to see the only library in District Tank, KP, closed for over 15 years now. Youth is our future & education is paramount to their development. I will ensure the restoration of this library with the help of my foundation,” wrote Shahid Afridi on Twitter. His fans and followers appreciated him for his decision.

Earlier, Shahid Afridi recovered from coronavirus after being tested positive for COVID-19.
However, the actor proactively ran charity and food distribution drive across Pakistan during the coronavirus lockdown.
Shahid Afridi ran food drive during coronavirus
Before contracting the virus, Shahid Afridi was proactively working to provide relief and support to the communities adversely affected by the coronavirus lockdown.
Shahid Afridi is running an extensive food drive across the country. Starting from Karachi, crossing the plains of Sindh, he recently reached Azad Jammu & Kashmir to distribute ration among the destitute. He even reached out to people in remote areas of tribal regions and distributed food among them.

He informed that his organization has distributed ration to 22,000 families across Pakistan since the coronavirus lockdown began in Pakistan.
Two years ago, Shahid Afridi made a huge donation for Thar. The cricketer-turned-philanthropist had donated 100 million rupees for the construction of a hospital in Thar to the Sindh Government. He presented the cheque to Chairperson Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah. He announced the Shahid Afridi Foundation would construct a 250-bed children’s hospital in Thar.
Shahid Afridi attended the program that was organized to launch the housing scheme at Sehryo for the affected people of Thar Coalfield at Block-II in Sehryo village.

Shahid Afridi is not just a celebrity cricketer but is actively following his passion to serve his country. His charity organization Shahid Afridi Foundation has been donating generously.
His foundation also bore the expenses for the treatment of former Pakistan’s hockey player, Mansoor Ahmed, who is suffering from a heart ailment. Ahmed’s heart is currently working as 20% of the doctors have recommended him to travel abroad for the treatment.
