Former captain and star all-rounder, Shahid Afridi has lamented the fact that the Pakistan Peoples Party, the ruling party in the Sindh province has shown little keenness to his umpteen pleas to allocate him land where he can make a cricket cum education academy for youngsters. He told this to anchorperson, Hamid Mir while playing the historic match in Miranshah earlier this week. Earlier in a gathering of notable personalities in Karachi, he said that politicians’ promises on TV with him were just for optics. He also said that while the world is fast-developing, our politicians are still debating on how to pick up garbage from Karachi.

Continuing his charity work, Afridi is currently building a 100-bed hospital in the poverty-stricken Thar area which is governed by the Pakistan Peoples Party(PPP).
