Shahnawaz Dahani has an emotional call with mother before debut match

PCB media shared a small video clip of Shahnawaz Dahani speaking to his mother and sharing his views before the match. In the heart-warming clip, Dahani can be seen expressing his excitement over making his debut in the match and playing for his country.

Cricketer Shahnawaz Dahani had an emotional call with his mother ahead of his T20I debut in the third match against Bangladesh.

Dahani spoke about his excitement over making his debut in the match and playing for his country. PCB media shared a small video clip of Shahnawaz Dahani speaking to his mother and sharing his views before the match. Dahani asked his mother to pray for him on the video call.

“Today is my debut match and I am very excited,” Dahani tells the PCB’s media team. “I am so excited that I cannot express my feelings. I was unable to sleep last night due to the happiness,” he added.

Dahani said today his “dream is coming true.”

“I had two wishes; one that I could debut in front of my parents [live] but unfortunately, we are in Bangladesh and they are not here. Secondly, I also wanted to play my debut match in front of my people in Sindh,” he added.

How Dahani’s dream came true

Dahani said that he belongs to a small town near Larkana and used to work with his father on fields. He said that he had been extremely passionate about playing cricket since his childhood. He used to play with tape ball cricket and it was his dream to play for Pakistan cricket one day.

He said that the best moment of his life was to be declared the best baller of the Pakistan Super League 6. “The way they welcomed me when I returned to Larkana, I cannot describe it for you,” he said. “They must also be really happy that a cricketer from Larkana is making his debut for Pakistan today,” he added.

Regarding his performance in the match, he said: “Insha’Allah I will give my 100% in the match. The results, however, are in Allah Mian’s hands.”
