Members of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family in London have been warned by local police of a serious threat of a violent attack from unidentified individuals, according to trusted sources citing local intelligence reports.
Reliable security sources revealed to Geo News that the West Midlands Police alerted the London Metropolitan Police about the threat against Nawaz’s family members. The threat warning, reportedly generated through the West Midlands Police’s intelligence monitoring system, prompted Scotland Yard detectives to visit the Avenfield apartments and inform the family about the heightened threat level. The police also provided safety guidelines, sources added.

While the origins of the threat and the identities of those involved were not disclosed, it is understood that the alert was based on intelligence shared by the West Midlands Police. Authorities advised the Sharif family to remain vigilant and exercise caution in their movements.
The police assured the family that appropriate measures have been taken to counter the potential threat.
This development comes two weeks after activist Gulfam Hussain was arrested by Scotland Yard outside the Avenfield flats following a complaint by Khurram Butt, leader of the PML-N Youth Wing in the UK. Hussain, who has since been released on bail with restrictions preventing him from approaching the Avenfield property, has denied issuing threats.

Sources indicated that the West Midlands Police acted after a group of Birmingham-based TikTok users issued violent threats during live broadcasts. While Hussain personally visited the apartments, others only made threats online. The police are currently investigating the matter, including reviewing video evidence.
Most members of the Sharif family have already relocated to Pakistan. After nearly three years in exile, Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan in November 2023. His son Hussain Nawaz now resides primarily in Saudi Arabia, though his wife and children remain in London. Hasan Nawaz Sharif is based in Lahore, where he supports his father.
Other family members, including Nawaz’s youngest daughter and her husband, Ali Dar, have also settled in Lahore after previously residing in London. The family recently celebrated the wedding of Nawaz’s grandson, Zayd Hussain, son of Hussain Nawaz, in Lahore.
