Pakistan People’s Party leader Sharmila Faruqi has suggested removing the name of Imran Khan’s mother from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital. Faruqi made the call in retaliation to media reports of an alleged attempt made by the PTI-ruling government to change the name of the Benazir Income Support Program.
Sharmila Faruqi calling out the Prime Minister Imran Khan asked how he would feel if the name of his mother be removed from the charity cancer hospital he constructed.
In a tweet published earlier, “How would @ImranKhanPTI feel if the next government removes the name of his mother from Shaukat Khanum Hospital?”
Hence, the proposition to change the name of Benazir Income Support Program came from ally party Grand Democratic Alliance that has irked the scores of Pakistan People’s Party workers and members.
Faruqi further added that “Morally, ethically and legally you have lost the plot Mr. P.M. #Benazirincomesupportprogram”

Sharmila Faruqi, however, has received several backlashes as people reminded her that the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital is a private organization and hence government has no right to change its name.
