Sher Afzal Marwat distances himself from media, social media

Sources revealed that the former prime minister, currently detained in Adiala Jail, refused a meeting with Sher Afzal Marwat, who had arrived to see him.

PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat announces to take a break from social media and media following a spat with the party leaders and after Imran Khan refused to meet him.

Taking to social media he said: “I have spoken my heart today. I would prefer to relax and stay away from media for a couple of days. It is therefore expected that the media would respect my request.”

Earlier today he said, “Mr Shibli Faraz has conveyed to Khan sb the message of the Saudi ambassador that his government has reservations over my nomination for the committee. In view of this, I proclaim my withdrawal from the contest. ”

“Hopefully, the message news is not an untrue account like the previous one when Khwaja Asif and Speaker National Assembly were falsely quoted as saying that committee would be given to some other party if my name was not withdrawn. I will stand by the Khan sb through all thick and thin but will never work under a qabza mafia,” said in a tweet.

Earlier today, Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reportedly expressed disappointment with party leader Sher Afzal Marwat for what he deemed as ‘irresponsible behavior’ and declined to meet him on Tuesday, according to ARY News.

Sources revealed that the former prime minister, currently detained in Adiala Jail, refused a meeting with Sher Afzal Marwat, who had arrived to see him. The purported reasons for Khan’s displeasure include Marwat’s statements regarding Saudi Arabia’s alleged involvement in the PTI government’s downfall and his meeting with Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.

Additionally, Marwat’s nomination for the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was reportedly withdrawn. Notably, PTI’s political committee had approved Sheikh Waqas Akram’s candidacy for the PAC chairmanship.
