Sher Afzal Marwat, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), criticized former federal minister Fawad Chaudhary during a media interaction, stating that Fawad has no right to criticize the current party leadership.
Marwat remarked, “I witnessed Fawad Chaudhary running like an elephant after seeing police outside the Islamabad High Court.” He added that Fawad’s actions brought shame to PTI, and therefore, he should refrain from giving advice to others.

When asked about Fawad’s comments labeling the current PTI leadership as a “failure,” Marwat responded that despite any shortcomings, they remained loyal to Imran Khan during difficult times, unlike Fawad, who fled. Fawad had previously criticized the PTI leadership, blaming their lack of political strategy for the party’s suffering and stating that there was “no chance” of Imran’s release under their leadership.
Fawad suggested that capable politicians like Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervaiz Elahi, and Asad Qaiser should lead the party, urging current leaders to stop making “foolish talks.”
In response to Fawad’s strong criticism, the PTI core committee unanimously approved a resolution stating that defectors who abandoned the party during challenging times would not be welcomed back. PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan mentioned that they would request the incarcerated party founder to accept the core committee’s recommendations.
