Chairman, Qaumi Watan Party, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has said, that all the political parties and stakeholders should play a role in the development of the recently merged tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing a public meeting in Abazai Union Council here on Saturday, he said that QWP would leave no stone unturned to address Pakhtun grievances. He said, that “it is the need of the hour to value the immolations of tribal people by removing the sense of growing deprivation among them.”

QWP chief said that after the FATA-KP merger there was a greater need to pay more attention to the neglected areas and put them on the path to development. He demanded a “handsome fund should be allocated to change the conditions of the locals.
He urged, all the political parties to unite for the progress of the previously neglected Fata areas to bring revolutionary developments in their socio-economic condition.” Mr Sherpao said “the revolutionary and pragmatic manifesto of the party was aimed at ameliorating the suffering of the people”.

Load Shedding in KP
He expressed concern over the unannounced and increasing power load shedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which had effected businesses adversely. He said “ending the plight of load shedding was not possible unless the whole system of distribution and transmission was overhauled.”
Sherpao expressed, concerns over the issue of Kalabagh Dam, saying that, “the issue would create problems for the federation.” He said that the provincial assemblies of the smaller provinces have maintained a negative stance towards Kalabagh Dam, passing resolutions that damaged the consensus needed to go through with the project.
He said that the smaller provinces have serious reservations over the disputed project because it was a matter of life and death for them. He said that “Kalabagh Dam was detrimental to the stability of the federation because the smaller provinces would now allow its creation at any cost.”

He said that presently the country was facing serious issues and it was the need of the hour to address them. He said that “Pakhtuns had been in great trouble and they had been ignored which increased their sense of deprivation.”
