SHO suspended for criticising Maryam Nawaz

SHO A.D. Shaheen had been suspended under the Government Service Efficiency and Discipline Rule 1973. He has been ordered to report to Police Lines, Sahiwal.

DPO Sahiwal on Tuesday suspended Chichawatni Station House Officer (SHO) for using derogatory language against Maryam Nawaz.

SHO Shaheen had posted derogatory comments against PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz on Facebook. Taking action against the matter, DPO has appointed Chichawatni Saddar Police Station Deputy Superintendent of Police as an Inquiry Officer to investigate the matter and submit the report within three weeks.

SHO A.D. Shaheen had been suspended under the Government Service Efficiency and Discipline Rule 1973. He has been ordered to report to Police Lines, Sahiwal. The suspension order states ‘inefficiency, irresponsible attitude, and negligence in the discharge of his duty as the reasons for his suspension.

Local leadership of PMLN had objected to the use of comments against Maryam Nawaz by the SHO. Maryam Nawaz, however, does not hold any public office as of now.

PML-N’s tough actions

Last week, a man working at Diamer-Basha Dam claims that he has been fired from his job after protesting against the coalition government in a viral video.

A few days back, a video of a group of employees working at Diamer-Basha Dam went viral on social media just before the visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the dam site. PM Sharif had visited the dam site two to three days after taking the oath. Upon his arrival, the workers had recorded their protest against the coalition government in the video.

The workers in the video were seen chanting the slogan ‘Imported Hakumat Namanzoor’ (Imported Government Unacceptable). The video had gone viral on social media. In the video, the man, standing with colleagues, said that country has been taken over by the corrupt mafia and that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is coming to visit the dam site just to draw the attention of people. Hence, they disapprove of this coalition government.
