News Analysis |

In the latest development, the Additional Inspector General (AIG) Welfare Sindh Police, Dr. Rizwan Ahmed, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with owners of different schools, to impart quality education to children of on-duty and martyred personnel of Sindh Police.

The police officers, earlier, were facing challenges when it came to their children’s education. Some reports suggest that junior police officers, and families of those who have been martyred on-duty, demanded their department to facilitate them towards educating their kids.

According to details, a simple signing ceremony was held at the Central Police office. The schools will impart free education, as per a specific quota, to children of martyred heroes and the children of on-duty police personnel will be provided education at concessional fees.

The Educator School will provide free education to 200 children of on-duty policemen and provide education to an equal number of children of martyred police personnel at concessional fees. The Allied School will provide free education to 38 children and will give 75 percent concession to 76 children. The Aziz-e-Millat School will give free education to 12 children and will give 50 percent concession to 24 children.

The Mariyum School and the Crescent Group of Public Schools will provide free education to children of all martyred police personnel, while these two schools will give 50 percent concession in fees to children of on-duty policemen. Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology will also give two seats to children of on-duty and martyred policemen.

AIG Welfare, Dr. Rizwan Ahmed, has said that the practice of MoUs will also be replicated to other ranges and districts of Sindh to impart quality education to the children of policemen.
