Singer Fakhr-e-Alam who was on his ‘Mission Parwaz’ has been detained at Russia’s airport. Actor Faysal Qureshi shared Alam’s message from his Twitter handle. Alam has requested the Pakistani authorities to help him and ask the Russian government to allow him to continue his journey towards Alaska.
The tweet shared from Faysal Qureshi’s account said, “Please tweet on my behalf,” the message read. “I am detained at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport because my visa expired by 2 hours and date changed.”

He further added that the Russian authorities are asking him to return to Japan, while he cannot since he had a single entry visa of Japan. “I cannot go to Japan because I had a single entry visa. I appeal to Pakistan’s government to request the Russian government to allow me to continue my journey to Alaska”, read the tweet further.

He further added, “I don’t want to give up Mission Parwaaz. I need Pakistan’s support to carry on our flag to finish this. I have been in a room without food or water. No Wi-Fi. They didn’t give me my phone for 6 hours.”

The foreign office responding to the news has assured that the relevant diplomatic staff in Russia is looking into the matter.
Fakhr-e-Alam commenced his “Mission Parwaz” on October 14th, 2018 from Florida in the United States of America. A trip around the world will span on 28 days that will cover 25 countries and 31 cities. Fakhr-e-Alam aims to become the first Muslim to travel around the world with less than 100 hours of flying.

Speaking about his motivation behind the journey, Alam once said, “Unlike other countries, Pakistan does not have its name in the general aviation history,” a fact Fakhr hopes to rectify. “This is my tribute to the brave soldiers and the resilient nation of Pakistan.”
