Former Pakistan cricket team captain, Shahid Khan Afridi, is mourning the loss of his sister, who passed away on Tuesday following a period of illness. On Monday, the renowned cricketer shared the distressing news of his sister’s deteriorating health, reaching out to his fans for their prayers as she was hospitalized.
Afridi took to his official social media account to announce the sad news with the words, “إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ,” which translates to “SURELY WE BELONG TO ALLAH AND TO HIM WE SHALL RETURN.” He conveyed the heavy-hearted message that their beloved sister had passed away. The funeral prayer, or Namaz-e-Janazah, is scheduled to be held on October 17, 2023, after the Zuhur (midday) prayer at Zakariya Masjid on the main 26th Street.

The deceased had been battling an ailment for some time, and her health condition had taken a serious turn, leading to her hospitalization. Unfortunately, she breathed her last on Tuesday morning.
The funeral prayer for the sister of the former Pakistan cricket team captain, Shahid Khan Afridi, will take place today at Zikriya Mosque in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi Phase-8. On Monday, just a few hours before her death, Shahid Afridi had requested his fans and followers to pray for his sister. In a moving note posted on X and Instagram, he said that he is traveling back to meet his sister.
“I am travelling back to see you soon my love stay strong My sister is fighting for her life right now, I request you to make Duas for her health, will mean a lot. May Allah give her speedy recovery and a long healthy life Ya Rabb,” said Shahid Afridi in his tweet last night.
