Six soldiers martyred, 22 terrorists killed in KP operations

ISPR reports successful operations against militants in Tank, North Waziristan, and Thall, as security forces reaffirm commitment to eradicating terrorism.

Nearly six soldiers were martyred and 22 terrorists were killed in three separate incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) informed in a press release on Saturday.

The operations took place at various places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on December 6th and December 7th, 2024, during which six police officers were martyred said ISPR.

Three separate engagements took place in KP’s Tank and Thall district on December 6th and 7th.

In Tank district, it said troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Gul Imam area on the reported presence of terrorists.

During the operation, the forces targeted the stronghold of the enemy resulting in the death of nine militants. Six others were injured and eventually taken into custody.

The second operation took place in North Waziristan in which ten militants were killed. A third clash occurred in the Thall District when militants attempted to attack a security checkpoint. Three militants were killed in this engagement, while six soldiers were martyred in the exchange of fire.

The statement claims that clearance operations are being carried out in the region to eliminate the remaining terrorists.  “Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism, and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the statement concluded.

Last month, five people including two security personnel were killed in an incident reported from North Waziristan from the terror-hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Major Muhammad Haseeb embraced martyrdom in an intelligence-based security clearance operation in Harnai district, Balochistan. Security forces had carried out the operation on the reports of the possible attack on innocent civilians in Harnai.

The troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and killed three terrorists, it said. During the operation, an improvised explosive device went off near the leading vehicles of security forces. Twenty-eight-year-old Muhammad Haseeb from Multan, leading the troops, and 38-year-old Havaldar Noor Ahmed from Barkhan district fought bravery against the terrorists before embracing martyrdom.
