Social media reacts after obscene video of Khalil ur Rehman Qamar goes viral

The viral clip was filmed covertly from a hidden camera, shows Khalil and woman in a private room.

A video clip linked to the alleged honey trap” scandal involving playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar has surfaced on social media, showing the perpetrators setting up the trap and testing a camera for the best view of the rendezvous. The video features the prime suspects, Urooj and Hasan Shah, casually sitting on the same couch where Qamar later sat next to the woman who lured him to her home late on the night of July 15 under the pretense of discussing a new soap opera project.

Shortly after Qamar settled into Urooj’s cozy living room, armed men stormed in, assaulted him, and took him on a long drive during which they stripped him of his valuables and cash. After obtaining what they wanted, the abductors abandoned the screenwriter in the middle of nowhere and drove off.

Following Qamar’s complaint, the Organised Crime Unit (OCU) of Model Town apprehended 12 suspects, including Urooj, one of the prime suspects. The first information report (FIR) — under PPC’s Sections 395 (punishment for dacoity) and 365 (Kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person) — was filed on July 21, nearly a week after the incident.

Urooj and 11 others are currently in remand as the police investigate the case. The alleged mastermind of the honey-trap scandal was arrested on Tuesday. An official told Geo News that Hasan, the gang’s mastermind, along with his accomplice Rafiq, was arrested in Peshawar. The suspect had also made an “objectionable” video of the playwright viral.

The viral video related to the Qamar honey trap scandal has left social media disgusted and revealed a shocking side of Qamar, who had previously gained notoriety for his misogynistic language against critics, mostly women, of his soap “Mere Pass Tum Ho” some years ago.
