Following the demise of superstar of Bollywood cinema, Sri Devi, wife of a well-known director, Boney Kapoor, their daughter Jhanvi Kapoor debuts in Karan Johar’s romantic film, Dhadak. Sharing the screen with famous Bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoors’ half -brother, Ishaan Khatter, Jhanvi Kapoor’s film is scheduled for a release today, on 20th July 2018.
Following her mother, Sri Devi’s legacy, Jhanvi Kapoor shares the big screen for the first time with actor, dancer Ishaan Khatter. The release of this film had been delayed, and tweets hand been going on at the hands of Karan Johar since, January 2018.
Dhadak, is a romantic Hindi film, directed by Shashank Khaitan, is a Dharma Productions, and an adaptation of the acclaimed Marathi film, Sairat. Karan Johar who is previously known for creating blockbusters like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Diwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and My Name is Khan, was seen on various television shows promoting the work of these young actors.

While ‘Dhadak’ will mark Jhanvi Kapoor’s foray in Bollywood cinema, Ishaan made his acting with an Iranian filmmaker, Majid Majidi, in a film called, “Beyond the Clouds”, in 2017. Dhadak’s music is given by Ajay-Atul, who together composed the music for the original Marathi movie, Sairat, in 2016.
This film had already created a buzz, when the trailer was launched; taking over the internet through several social media platforms. Its songs and title songs are one of the trending videos on YouTube, currently. Since the Marathi film was a great hit and appreciated immensely by the viewers, expectations grew for this Hindi remake.
Similar expectations are in order when it comes to Jhanvi Kapoor, who is known for being legendary Sri Devi’s daughter, who left behind big shoes to fill as Sri Devi fans await a glimpse of the everlasting Sri Devi, in her daughters, work.

The Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) had cleared for release here in Pakistan. However, by managing to get a clearance certificate, Dhadak’s release is predicted to clash with Ali Zafar’s Teefa in Trouble, in cinemas, on the upcoming weekend.
