Sri Lanka on Wednesday paid a gracious tribute to the cricketing legacy of Prime Minister Imran Khan with a special video documentary played in his honour at an event. PM Imran Khan shared the video on his official Twitter and Instagram and expressed gratitude to the government for honouring him.
The documentary revisited the glorious cricketing days of Imran Khan. It was played when Imran Khan reached to inaugurate the High-Performance Sports Complex in Colombo on his two-day official visit to Sri Lanka.

The documentary speaks of the decades-old love and respect for Imran Khan in Sri Lanka. by showing Imran Khan as one of the most celebrated cricketers in Sri Lanka. The documentary also highlighted the special relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Diplomatic relations between the two countries are strong as Pakistan offered assistance to Sri Lanka on various occasions.

Retired Sri Lankan players also shared their views about Imran Khan. Legendary cricketers spoke highly of Khan while expressing love for him. Sri Lanka believes that Imran Khan will lead Pakistan to glorious heights just like he sailed Pakistan towards victory in the 1992 World Cup.
PM Imran Khan presented his signed bat to the Sri Lankan cabinet minister for youth and sports affairs, Namal Rajapaksa. The minister expressed his delight in receiving a signed bat from him on Twitter.

Imran Khan also announced to allocate a fund of Rs 52 million for the development of the sports and sporting infrastructure in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has announced to commission Imran Khan High-Performance Sports Center in Colombo.

Imran Khan participated in various interactive sessions during his visit to Sri Lanka. The red carpet was rolled out at the airport and Namal Rajapaksa came to see him off at the airport. On his way back to Pakistan, Imran Khan expressed gratitude for the adulation and love received on his visit.
