Suspected PMLN members arrested for beating Pak Army soldier released

PML-N leader Khawaja Salman Rafique’s guards had severely beaten a serving army officer and broken his arm. The incident took place on Feroze Pur Road on April 13, when PML-N hooligans stopped Major Haris’s car while he was going home.

Suspected PMLN workers arrested in the assault of the serving major of the Pak Army have been released, reports HUM News.

It is reported that CCPO confirmed to Hum News that the suspects in the case have been released. PML-N leader Khawaja Salman Rafique’s guards had severely beaten a serving army officer and broken his arm. The incident took place on Feroze Pur Road on April 13, when PML-N hooligans stopped Major Haris’s car while he was going home.

After being confronted by the public, the miscreant guards ran away, leaving the officer critically injured. Major was also threatened with death by the guards of Khawaja Salman Rafique, who is the brother of the renowned PML-N parliamentarian Khawaja Saad Rafique

Khawaja Salman Rafique, Ex-Provincial Minister of Punjab and member of PML-N, and Hafiz Noman were in the next car. In a video widely shared on the internet, one of the guards can be seen holding a metal rod in his hand. After thrashing the Major, he stepped over his car.

Major Haris, a remarkable Army Officer, had served Pakistan and has defended the nation at the heights of Siachen. The reason behind the assault as stated by the media is that Major Haris entered into the protocol of PMLN leader.

Netizens are condemning the release of the suspects in the case. They have denounced the move by Lahore Police to release the PMLN party members. Social media users have asked COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa to take notice of the issue and make efforts to provide justice to the serving Pakistan Army major.

On Monday, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar was questioned about the incident in the press conference. He was asked if Pakistan Army will follow the case. He condemned the incident and said that they will not tolerate violence and hooliganism. DG ISPR called for justice for Major Haris.
