Tables turn as PML-N and MQM-P allied for general elections
Since the date of the election announced, there has been a move at every stage in the Pakistani political setup. Nawaz Sharif, who returned to Pakistan after almost four years, seems to be the leading player. The latest development took place on Tuesday in Lahore.
According to the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) official X handle, PML-N and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) have decided to contest the general elections together, which are supposed to be held on February 8.
The official PML-N handle of X posted that there was a meeting held, constituting PML-N leadership, Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and others, while MQM-P, under the leadership of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, compromising, Dr. Farooq Satar and Mustafa Kamal.

The post hold, that both parties have decided to work together to get Pakistan back on the track of development and to help the people in these difficult circumstances. Both parties have also decided to make a committee of six persons, three from each party. The committee will present its report about the solutions to the problems of Sindh, especially its urban areas, in ten days.

While later addressing the media, PML-N’s leader Saad Rafique said that their doors will always be open for all political parties. He further said that talks were going on between PML-N and MQM_P during their time in the PDM government. He further said that the urge to contest elections together was from both sides.

Farooq Sattar of MQM-P, talking to the media, said there is a need to get the nation out of this crisis, which can only be done with the help of the alliance. He said that MQM-P proposed a charter for national interests, which will be prepared along with PML-N and presented to other parties.
