Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader, Talal Chaudhry, condemned for targeting Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf’s Firdous Ashiq Awan, advisor to PM for Information and Broadcasting, with his distasteful misogynistic remarks. The PML-N leader’s tirade against Awan did not go well with the netizens as people are condemning the League’s leader to apologize for professing his sexism out aloud.

Last night, a video of Talal Chaudhry went viral on social media in which he was heard targeting the current government of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf. In his penchant to vilify the current government, Chaudhry transgressed the limits and stooped to a level of disgracing Firdous Ashiq Awan by comparing her looks with a man.

After receiving a lot of flak and criticism on social media, Talal Chaudhry apologized on Twitter stating that his intentions were not to degrade anyone, and if what I said was inappropriate, then I’m sorry about that.

Talal said, “This is the kind of tabdeeli … if Baji Firdous Ashiq Awan got her face washed, the way her real looks would emerge from behind her makeup… she would appear as Firdous Khan instead. This is also the real face of this tabdeeli.”

His remarks garnered strict reactions from senior journalists and dignitaries who approached Chaudhry to not to comprise on decency in politics. Journalists like Nasim Zehra, Maria Memon, and Meher Bukhari, took to Twitter and condemned the remarks.

The netizens even reached out to Maryam Nawaz, the party head of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, to take strict action against Talal Chaudhry. This is not the first time, Talal Chaudhry or other PMLN leaders have been criticized for demeaning women of opponent parties with derogatory comments. Earlier, Khwaja Asif’s ‘tractor trolley’ remarks against Shireen Mazari stirred a severe backlash that forced him to apologize.
