A video surfaced of the Afghan Taliban celebrating and having a feast in the governor’s house in Zaranj in the capital of Nimruz province of Afghanistan. The video went viral on Wednesday in which several Afghan Taliban are seen celebrating and having a feast in the governor’s house.
Some were seen sitting on the lavish sofas and some were seen sitting on the carpeted floor. Similar videos of the Afghan Taliban celebrating their victory after taking provinces in Afghanistan have been making rounds on social media.

They fear Afghanistan will soon fall into the hands of the Taliban if they are not stopped. The forces of the Taliban are heading towards Kabul swiftly without resistance and opposition.

The opulent living of the elite speak volumes about the polarization of Afghan society where a larger chunk of the population lives beyond their means. The millions of Afghan people fall into the poverty trap as the elites thrived at the expense of the deprived. The poverty rate has risen from 59% to 72% at the start of the year 2021 as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.
