Taylor Swift recently met with the families of victims affected by a tragic mass stabbing that occurred during a children’s dance class in Southport, England. The pop star, who is currently on the European leg of her Eras Tour, welcomed several families backstage at Wembley Stadium in London over the weekend. One mother, Sami Foster, shared a touching TikTok video documenting the experience, which included her daughters, Hope and Autumn, meeting Swift. The video quickly went viral, showcasing the emotional moment when Swift embraced the young girls, who wore Red-themed T-shirts for the occasion.

Foster’s post included a poignant caption referencing a lyric from Swift’s song “Cardigan,” which was written on one of her daughter’s arm bandages: “You drew stars around my scars.” The mother expressed deep gratitude to Swift and her mother, Andrea, for creating a “magical night” that brought “pure happiness” to her daughters.
Tragic Event Remembered
The meeting comes in the wake of a horrific incident that took place on July 29, when a 17-year-old boy attacked a Swift-themed dance and yoga event for children aged 6 to 11 in Southport. The attack resulted in the deaths of three young girls—Bebe King, 6, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 9. Additionally, eight other children and two adults, including the class instructor Leanne Lucas, were seriously injured. The perpetrator was later charged with multiple counts of murder and attempted murder.
In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, Swift expressed her shock and grief in a statement, saying, “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock… The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”
