“2024 and 2025 GMC Sierra EV: Battery Capacity, Trims, and Features Revealed”

GMC has certainly piqued our curiosity with their upcoming electric pickups, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 and the 2025 GMC Sierra EV. While specific details about the battery capacity of the 2024 model have yet to be released, it has been suggested that it will feature the same 204-kWh battery pack found in the GMC Hummer EV. This pack was recently given an estimated range rating of 440 miles, an increase from the previous 400 miles. Not only that, but the towing capacity has been upgraded by 500 pounds to 10,000 pounds, and the max payload capacity has been increased by 150 pounds to 1,450 pounds. These improvements indicate that GMC is serious about making their electric trucks a competitive choice in terms of performance.

Moving on to the 2025 GMC Sierra EV, it appears that GMC is planning to offer a range of trim options, including the standard Denali, AT4, and Elevation trims. The AT4 trim will come with a host of trail-ready features such as four-wheel steering, CrabWalk, and two additional inches of ground clearance. It will also boast 18-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch all-terrain tires, Super Cruise, and a spray-on bedliner. Optional upgrades for the AT4 include a DC fast charge upgrade to 350-kW, GMC’s MultiPro MidGate, and the 10.2-kW Power Station Pro. Meanwhile, the Elevation trim will offer a power-operated frunk, the MultiPro tailgate, and will sit on 18-inch wheels with 33-inch rubber. Optional features for the Elevation will include the MultiPro MidGate, Super Cruise, spray-on bedliner, Power Station Pro, and fast charge upgrade. The Denali trim will come fully equipped with all of these tech features as standard and will feature massive 24-inch wheels with 35-inch rubber.

In addition to the variety of trims, GMC will be expanding the color options for the Sierra EV. Currently, the truck only comes in Thunderstorm Gray, but the new options will include Deep Ember Tintcoat, Deep Ocean Metallic, Moonlight Matte, Onyx Black, and Summit White. This wider range of colors will allow owners to express their personal style and make a statement on the road.

While the specifics of the battery capacity for the 2025 Sierra EV have yet to be officially confirmed, a leaked order guide suggests that there will be two pack options: an Extended Range and a Max Range. It is believed that the Extended Range pack will consist of a 20-module pack with a capacity of 170 kWh, providing a range of approximately 380 to 390 miles. As production of the 2025 trucks is set to begin in early September, starting with the Denali trim, we can anticipate that more detailed information will be forthcoming in the near future. The AT4 and Elevation trims are expected to arrive at dealerships early next year.

Overall, GMC is demonstrating their commitment to innovation and performance with their electric pickup truck lineup. By offering a range of trims with various features and upgrading the battery capacity and performance metrics, they are poised to make a significant impact in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market. With the addition of new color options, customers will have even more choices to customize their Sierra EV to their liking. As we eagerly await more information on these exciting electric trucks, it’s clear that GMC is driving us towards a future where electric vehicles are no longer an exception but rather the new norm on our roads.
