2025 Acura MDX Pricing Revealed: Here’s What You Get for the Extra Money

Acura recently unveiled the 2025 MDX, and now they have released the pricing for their updated flagship crossover. The prices for the MDX have increased, ranging from $850 to $1,550. A significant portion of that increase is due to a higher $1,350 destination charge. Let’s take a closer look at the pricing details and the features that come with it.

Starting with the base models, the MDX FWD and MDX SH-AWD have a price of $52,250 and $54,450 respectively. Both models have seen an increase of $850 compared to the 2024 version. Moving up the ladder, the Technology Package FWD and Technology Package SH-AWD are priced at $57,650 and $59,850 respectively. These trims have seen a higher increase of $1,550.

The A-Spec SH-AWD is priced at $62,850, which reflects a $1,050 increase. The Advance Package SH-AWD is priced at $67,350, with a significant increase of $2,000. Acura has also introduced a new trim, the A-Spec Advance SH-AWD, which is priced at $69,350. Finally, the top-of-the-line Type S Advance SH-AWD comes with a price tag of $76,300, reflecting a $1,250 increase compared to the previous version.

Now let’s discuss what buyers get for the extra money they are spending on these trims. One of the most significant changes is the new infotainment system. Acura has replaced the unpopular Acura True Touchpad interface with a 12.3-inch touchscreen that features Google built-in. This integration means that drivers will have access to an enhanced version of Google Maps and various apps from the Google Play store, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The center console space has been redesigned to accommodate the new touchscreen, offering a wide and shallow bin along with an easier-to-access wireless phone charger. Additionally, the cabin now comes equipped with a new Bang & Olufsen sound system with either 19 or 31 speakers (excluding the base trims), improved hardware for the AcuraWatch driver assistance suite, and enhanced sound deadening with rear laminated glass on most trims.

Exterior changes are relatively subtle, including revised lower fascias for both the standard and Type S models, new grille inserts, and a revised grille surround that removes the chrome lipstick look of the standard MDX. The taillights have also been updated, with a darker design, and new wheel designs are featured throughout the vehicle.

Acura has even included some Easter eggs for avid MDX fans. The 2025 Advance trim now features body-colored skirting, reminiscent of the late third-gen MDX, instead of the black skirting found on the fourth-gen through 2024.

In terms of trims, Acura has introduced a new A-Spec Advance trim that allows buyers to combine the sportier appearance of the A-Spec with the luxury and tech features of the Advance package. This includes 16-way power front seats, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera. The A-Spec Advance trim also features quilted leather seats previously exclusive to the Type S.

Speaking of the Type S, there have been some changes in pricing and features for this trim. The base version of the Type S that was previously available without the Advance Package has been discontinued. As a result, it now costs $6,600 more to get into a Type S for 2025. However, Acura has made sure to differentiate the Type S Advance from the A-Spec Advance by covering its seats in soft-touch Milano leather, while the A-Spec Advance gets quilted leather.

Overall, the pricing increase for the 2025 Acura MDX is justified by the significant updates and improvements it brings. With an enhanced infotainment system, improved sound system, and refined exterior design, Acura is offering more value for the money. Whether it’s the base trims or the high-performance Type S, buyers can expect an elevated driving experience in the latest MDX.
