“2025 Bentley Flying Spur Set to Receive Plug-In Hybrid Drivetrain: More Power and Increased Range”

Bentley is set to introduce its plug-in hybrid drivetrain to the updated Flying Spur model later this year. Following the success of the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which debuted the hybrid system earlier in 2024, the Flying Spur will now benefit from this technology. This transition between models suggests that little will change in terms of powertrain specifications. The Flying Spur will still be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, delivering an impressive 771 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.

However, the hybrid powertrain will give the next Flying Spur a significant boost in performance, with an additional 150 horsepower compared to the outgoing model. This increase in power is expected to result in a thrilling driving experience, further enhanced by the electric motor’s instant torque.

One of the main advantages of the plug-in hybrid drivetrain is its electric capability. With a full charge, the Flying Spur will be able to drive for over 45 miles on electricity alone. And when combined with a full tank of fuel, it will offer a driving range of over 500 miles. This dual-power capability ensures that owners can enjoy both the efficiency of electric driving and the convenience of extended range for longer journeys.

While Bentley has released a preview image of the updated Flying Spur, it does a good job of concealing the overall design. However, some details are visible, such as updated lights with a jewel-like appearance and a redesigned lower bumper with smaller vents. These changes, combined with Bentley’s track record of extensively updating their models rather than completely redesigning them, suggest that the next Flying Spur will feature a host of enhancements without being an entirely new car.

Inside the cabin, it is reasonable to expect that the 2025 Flying Spur will also receive improvements and new technologies. Bentley has not confirmed whether the model will be offered exclusively as a hybrid or if other non-electrified options will be available. Currently, the Flying Spur offers a choice between the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and a plug-in hybrid system based on a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6.

Bentley has promised that more details about the next Flying Spur will be revealed “in due course.” Excitement is building as enthusiasts eagerly await further information on this highly anticipated model, which is set to combine impressive performance, hybrid efficiency, and luxurious craftsmanship in true Bentley fashion.
