2025 Cadillac Optiq: Pricing, Features, and Comparison to the Lyriq

2025 Cadillac Optiq: A Luxurious and Affordable Electric Crossover

Cadillac is set to release the 2025 Optiq, their entry-level battery-electric offering that will come with a price tag of around $54,000. The crossover will feature standard dual-motor all-wheel drive, making it a capable option for various driving conditions. With four available trims, including Luxury 1, Sport 1, Luxury 2, and Sport 2, customers will have options to suit their preferences and budgets.

Under the hood, the Optiq will be powered by an 85-kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 300 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. The range is estimated to be around 300 miles on a full charge, providing ample distance for everyday commuting and long-distance travel. While the maximum charging rate hasn’t been disclosed, Cadillac expects drivers to achieve approximately 79 miles for every ten minutes of DC charging.

Interestingly, the Optiq’s pricing puts it in close proximity to its big brother, the Lyriq. The 2024 Lyriq in entry Tech trim starts at $58,590, only a $4,200 difference from the Optiq. However, the 2025 Lyriq will see a price increase, starting at $59,990 for the entry-level Luxury 1 trim. This makes the Optiq Luxury 1 a more affordable option at $54,390, offering similar features and performance.

Cadillac ensures that the Optiq maintains the brand’s luxurious appeal. The exterior design features an illuminated black crystal grille, reminiscent of the Lyriq’s styling. Flush door handles and a layered-glass rear quarter-panel window with a pattern inspired by Cadillac’s iconic crest add to the crossover’s elegance. Vertical light bars frame the backlight, emphasizing the vehicle’s modern aesthetics. Although it lacks a rear window wiper, spoilers above and below the glass provide a sleek and sporty touch.

Inside the Optiq, drivers will be greeted by a 33-inch LED display in 9k resolution, serving as both the infotainment system and instrument panel. Integrated with Google Built-In technology, the system includes Google Assistant and Google Maps, offering advanced connectivity and convenience. The standard AKG audio system with 19 speakers and Dolby Atmos capability ensures an immersive sound experience.

Cadillac has also prioritized sustainability in the Optiq’s interior design. The cantilevered center console features fabric woven from recycled yarn, while the “PaperWood” veneer is made from tulip wood and recycled newspaper. Soft-touch, non-woven “Tide” fabric lines the open storage areas, adding a premium feel. Despite the slightly higher floor due to the battery placement, the Optiq offers ample legroom in both rows, though second-row headroom is slightly limited. With 26 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and a maximum of 57 cubic feet with the second row folded, the Optiq provides practical storage solutions.

Safety is a top priority for Cadillac, and the Optiq reflects this commitment. Every model is equipped with a comprehensive list of safety features, including front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, reverse automatic braking, auto high beams, blind zone steering assist, and rear cross traffic braking. These advanced technologies provide peace of mind and enhance driver confidence on the road.

Buyers of the Optiq will also be eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit, further reducing the overall cost of ownership. However, it’s important to note that the more affordable trims will be available at a later date. Those looking to purchase before the year ends may consider the Luxury 2 and Sport 2 grades.

In summary, the 2025 Cadillac Optiq is set to make a statement in the electric crossover market. With a competitive price point, impressive performance, luxurious features, and a commitment to sustainability, the Optiq offers a compelling option for those seeking a stylish and efficient electric vehicle. Cadillac continues to innovate and deliver on their promise of creating vehicles that embody luxury and performance while embracing the future of electrification.
