2025 Cadillac XT4: Price Changes and Improved Features

Cadillac is making some significant changes to its entry-level crossover, the XT4, for the 2025 model year. An early order guide reveals that the Luxury trim level in front-wheel-drive has been removed from the lineup. While this may come as a surprise to some, there are some positive aspects to this change.

One of the main differences between the 2024 and 2025 XT4 models is the pricing. The base 2024 XT4 had a starting price of $39,090, but the base model for the 2025 XT4 is expected to be higher. However, the good news is that the price difference is not as significant as one might expect. The next trim level up, the Premium Luxury FWD, starts at $42,690, making the real difference between the entry-level pricing $2,900.

Cadillac has also made some changes to the pricing of other trim levels. The Premium Luxury trim for the 2025 XT4 has been reduced by $700, now starting at $41,990. The Sport trim has also seen a reduction of $400, with a starting price of $42,790. These price adjustments make the overall difference between trim levels more manageable for potential buyers.

Despite these price changes, Cadillac is not compromising on features. In fact, they are adding more features to the range. For the 2025 XT4, the Active Safety Package will come as standard equipment. This package includes advanced safety technologies such as adaptive cruise control, enhanced lane-keep assist, speed limit assist, surround-view cameras, and reverse automatic braking. Previously, this package was an optional extra costing $1,825.

The decision to remove the base Luxury trim level is likely an effort by Cadillac to improve the overall value proposition of the XT4. The base Luxury trim for the 2024 model could not be optioned with important packages like the Active Safety Package, the Technology Package, or the Comfort and Convenience Package. This made it difficult for buyers to fully enjoy the benefits and features that Cadillac offers.

It’s clear that Cadillac wants to position the XT4 as a more appealing option in the luxury crossover segment. By removing the base Luxury trim level and adding more standard features, Cadillac is making the XT4 a more competitive offering. While the starting price for the 2025 XT4 may be slightly higher, the inclusion of the Active Safety Package as standard equipment and the overall reduction in price differences between trim levels make it a compelling choice for luxury crossover buyers.

Production of the 2025 XT4 is set to begin soon, with the last 2024 models expected to roll off the line at the end of May. As Cadillac continues to improve its lineup and provide better value to customers, it will be interesting to see how the updated XT4 performs in the highly competitive luxury crossover market.
