2025 Genesis G80 Sedan Pricing: A Look at the Changes and Comparisons

The Genesis G80 sedan has received a refresh for the 2025 model year, and after our test drive, we can confidently say that it remains an impressive luxury sedan. Now, it’s time to discuss pricing. Genesis had only recently announced the pricing for the 2024 G80 in April, and yet they have already unveiled the pricing for the 2025 model. This indicates a quick turnaround for the release of the new car, and it also means that there are some changes in pricing compared to the previous version.

It’s worth noting that the prices we will be discussing include the $1,250 destination charge and the changes that have been made since April. Let’s take a look at the MSRPs for the 2025 Genesis G80:

– 2.5T: $58,350 (+$2,700)
– 2.5T Advanced: $63,150 (+$2,800)
– 2.5T Sport Prestige: $69,600 (+$4,400)
– 3.5T Sport Advanced: $70,850 (+$2,400)
– 3.5T Sport Prestige: $78,250 (+$3,900)

It’s important to highlight that all G80 models now come with all-wheel drive. The 2.5T variant is equipped with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, the 3.5T model boasts a turbocharged 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine, delivering 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque.

Interestingly, Genesis has discontinued the 3.5T Sport trim that was available in April, incorporating most of its features into a new Sport Advanced package. Previously, the base 3.5T Sport was priced only $300 higher than the 2.5T Sport Prestige. However, the 2025 G80 sees a major price jump of $4,400 for the 2.5T Sport Prestige, while the 3.5T Sport Advanced sees a smaller increase of $2,400. As a result, the price difference between these two trims has decreased from $3,250 to $1,250.

Moving on to the design changes, the updated G80 adopts the dual mesh grille seen on the GV80 SUV and features a new lower intake design that is more cohesive. The LED headlights have been replaced with micro lens array (MLA) lighting, borrowed from the G90 sedan. Additionally, the sedan receives new exterior color options and updated wheel designs for the 20-inch rims. The rear fascia has also been revised, eliminating the exhaust finishers and incorporating a V-shaped motif filled with mesh lines, similar to the GV80.

Inside the cabin, the G80 takes inspiration from its larger siblings, with the previous separate 12.4-inch and 14.5-inch infotainment screens now merged into a single 27-inch OLED display. The dual dials on the center tunnel have been replaced with a crystal shifter and a shiny integrated controller, enhancing the overall luxurious feel of the interior.

Our test drive of the refreshed G80 left us impressed, describing it as a “classic luxury sedan in all the best ways.” The car exudes elegance and composure, both in terms of its appearance and its driving experience. It is worth noting that the G80 is on the higher end of the price spectrum, but it certainly deserves consideration.

For comparison, let’s take a look at the starting prices of the 2025 BMW 5 Series xDrive models. The 255-horsepower 530i xDrive starts at $61,775, while the 375-horsepower 540i xDrive begins at $66,375. If you’re looking for electrification, the 550e xDrive with 483 horsepower starts at $73,875. In terms of dynamic sportiness, both the 540i and 550e outperform the G80. However, if you’re enticed by the G80, we recommend considering the trims below the 3.5T Sport Prestige. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also experience the best that this sedan has to offer.
