2025 GMC Yukon: A Refreshed Full-Size SUV with Stylish Upgrades and Tech Advancements

GMC is stepping up its game with the 2025 Yukon, following in the footsteps of the recent updates to the Tahoe and Escalade. This full-size SUV is getting a refresh with revised styling, new technology, and a touch of luxury.

Starting with the exterior, the 2025 Yukon features new grille designs for different trims, along with fresh headlights, taillights, and bumper designs. The Denali Ultimate trim stands out with an epic new GMC badge that showcases the topography of Mount Denali. Plus, for those who want to make a statement, there’s a new 24-inch wheel option available exclusively on the Denali Ultimate.

GMC is also streamlining the trim options for the Yukon. The SLE and SLT trims are being eliminated and replaced by a single Elevation “base” trim. Additionally, a new AT4 Ultimate variant is introduced, combining off-road capabilities with the tech and luxury found in the Denali trim.

Inside the 2025 Yukon, the most significant updates can be seen in the new 16.8-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system. This massive display, first introduced in the Sierra EV, runs on Android Automotive software, making Google Maps the go-to navigation system and Google Assistant the voice control. The Yukon also offers a Night Vision thermal object detection mode in its digital cluster, along with other driver assistance systems and the option for Super Cruise.

Passengers in the rear seats won’t miss out on the tech either. They now have an 8-inch touchscreen for rear climate control. In the Denali Ultimate trim, you can opt for the second row “Executive Seating” package, which includes heated, ventilated, and massaging captain’s chairs, in-headrest speakers, and more.

When it comes to powertrain, the 2025 Yukon mostly carries over the same options from before the refresh. The 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 remain unchanged, but the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six gets some updates for improved performance. With 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque, the diesel engine continues to be a popular choice for Yukon buyers, with a 10-15% take rate each year.

While GMC has not released the pricing details yet, the 2025 Yukon is expected to go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year. With its refreshed design, cutting-edge technology, and luxurious features, the updated Yukon is sure to make a statement in the full-size SUV market. So, gear up and get ready to experience the future of GMC’s flagship SUV.
