“2025 Kia K5: Fresh Looks and Affordable Pricing”

The Kia K5 has always been known for its attractive design and solid driving experience at an affordable price. However, Kia has taken it up a notch for the 2025 model year by giving it updated exterior styling, a significant interior overhaul, and a new naturally-aspirated engine. The best part is that despite these improvements, the pricing remains close to what we saw in 2024.

Let’s take a closer look at the pricing for the new 2025 K5. The base LXS trim starts at $28,145 after the destination charge. Stepping up to the GT-Line FWD increases the price to $29,145, while opting for AWD adds an additional $1,600. The EX trim is only available in front-wheel drive and starts at $35,645. The sporty K5 GT is slightly cheaper at $34,245. These prices are quite reasonable considering the features and performance offered by the K5. Sales of the new K5 will begin in the second quarter of 2024.

It’s worth noting that while the base LXS trim and GT-Line didn’t see much of a price increase from the previous model year, the EX trim jumped $5,000. However, the two entry-level configurations still offer great value for the money. On the positive side, the GT variant did not see a massive price increase like the lower trims, so buyers won’t be surprised when purchasing a K5.

When it comes to features, the K5 comes packed with standard equipment across all trims. This includes a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, and six speakers. Higher trims add navigation, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, LED interior lighting, and synthetic leather upholstery with sport seats in certain variants. In terms of safety, the K5 offers a comprehensive suite of advanced driver aids such as blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control.

Powering the K5 is a choice of two engines. The new entry-level 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 191 horsepower and 181.5 pound-feet of torque, which is an improvement of 11 horsepower over the previous model. The range-topping GT trim is equipped with a 2.5-liter engine that generates 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

In addition to the K5, Kia has also introduced a new K4 sedan for the 2025 model year. This sedan replaces the popular Forte as Kia’s entry-level offering. The K4 shares the same four-cylinder engine as the Forte, but the top GT-Line Turbo trim gets a more powerful 190-horsepower turbo-four. While pricing for the K4 has not been announced yet, Kia has plans to release an attractive hatchback version after the initial rollout.

With its updated styling, improved interior, and new engine options, the 2025 Kia K5 is set to continue its success in the midsize sedan segment. With competitive pricing and a long list of standard features, the K5 remains a solid choice for buyers looking for an affordable yet stylish and well-equipped sedan. Whether it’s the base LXS trim or the sporty GT variant, the K5 offers a compelling package that delivers value for money.
