2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid: New Face, Tech Upgrades, and Price Increase

The 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid has arrived with a fresh new look, showcasing its upgraded exterior and interior features. This debut comes a year after the gas-only Sorento made waves with its revamped design and advanced technology. The hybrid version follows suit, as it also sports the eye-catching “Star Map” lighting and amber daytime running lights that frame the front corners. Additionally, the rear taillights receive the same sleek treatment, creating a cohesive and futuristic aesthetic.

Not only does the Sorento Hybrid boast an impressive exterior, but it also offers a range of captivating colors for buyers to choose from. The color palette includes options like Cityscape Green, Interstellar Grey, Mineral Blue, and Volcanic Sand. These choices allow drivers to personalize their vehicles and make a statement on the road.

Moving inside the Sorento Hybrid, there are some notable updates as well. The base EX trim features a carryover instrument cluster with an embedded 4.3-inch TFT screen, along with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. However, the SX Prestige trim takes it up a notch with a curved panorama display that consists of two 12.3-inch screens. This upgrade not only enhances the overall technological experience but also brings advanced features like faster Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, expanded over-the-air updates, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Digital Key 2.0.

Moreover, the top trim level adds an extra touch of luxury to the cabin with a standard suede headliner and ventilated front seats. This attention to detail ensures a comfortable and upscale driving experience. However, these premium features do come at a higher price point compared to the previous model year.

In terms of additional options, Kia introduces two new features to the list: Smart Cruise Control-Machine Learning (SCC-ML) and Highway Driving Assist 2 with automatic lane change. These cutting-edge technologies demonstrate Kia’s commitment to enhancing the overall driving experience and prioritizing safety on the road.

Speaking of prices, the starting MSRP for the 2025 Sorento Hybrid is $40,065 for the base EX trim, which represents a $1,700 increase from the previous year. The SX Prestige trim, on the other hand, starts at $48,265, reflecting a larger price increase of $4,100 compared to the previous model year. It is worth noting that Kia did not change the prices for the 2024 Sorento Hybrid, and the adjustments align with those seen in the non-hybrid Sorento lineup.

Under the hood, both the EX and SX Prestige trims are equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, supported by a 59-horsepower electric motor and a 1.5-kW battery. Together, they generate a combined output of 227 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This power is efficiently transferred to the front axle through a six-speed transmission in the base EX. For those seeking enhanced traction and control, the EX trim offers an optional upgrade to all-wheel drive (AWD) for an additional $1,800. On the other hand, the SX Prestige trim comes standard with AWD, making it an ideal choice for drivers who prioritize all-weather capability.

Overall, the 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid delivers an array of fresh updates and improvements that further elevate its appeal in the competitive midsize SUV segment. With its striking design elements, advanced technology features, and increased focus on driver assistance and safety, Kia continues to impress consumers and solidify its position as a prominent player in the hybrid SUV market.
