“2025 Nissan Armada Teaser: Unveiling the New Grille and Heritage Connections”

The Nissan Armada has a rich heritage that dates back to the iconic Nissan Patrol, which has been sold continuously since 1951. The connection between the Armada and Patrol is being re-established as Nissan prepares for the arrival of the 2025 Armada. A teaser image showcases a 1967 Patrol, which is now a part of the Nissan Heritage Collection in Tennessee.

One thing we can gather from the teaser is that the upcoming Armada will feature either a Rock Creek or Pro-4X trim. The Rock Creek versions are characterized by their chunky black grilles with narrow vents along the top edge. It would make sense for the Armada to go with the Pro-4X trim, given its associations with the Patrol and its capabilities on and off the trail. This trim would position the Armada as a contender against the likes of the Chevrolet Tahoe Z71, GMC Yukon AT4, and Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro.

In terms of design, we can expect the new Armada to have a toned-down version of the new Infiniti Q80. The old 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine will likely be replaced by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, producing around 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The Armada will also likely feature electric power steering and advanced driving technology. The interior could include dual 14.3-inch gauge and infotainment displays, as well as a 9-inch screen for climate controls. However, it’s possible that Nissan might remove the latter screen to give the Infiniti more breathing room as the luxury offering within the conglomerate.

Price increases are expected for the new Armada, although the exact amount is unknown. Nissan has been gradually adjusting the Armada’s pricing structure, as seen by the elimination of the previous base trim for the 2024 model year. When the new Armada arrives, its price will be compared to the current Armada SV price, which has already increased since its debut last year. The starting price of the new Armada could be just over $60,000, which would be about $10,000 more than the entry-level 2023 Armada.

Nissan’s product planning chief, Ivan Espinoza, has stated that the Armada will outperform its main rival, the Land Cruiser. He mentioned significant improvements in performance, driving dynamics, chassis, and steering. While it’s unclear how much of these improvements will be included in the Armada, any added benefits would help the SUV assert itself in the market. It’s important to note that the Land Cruiser referred to is the overseas model, not the plainer Lexus GX variant available in the United States.

The Armada/Patrol will be unveiled to global audiences on September 3rd. For those interested in the Patrol, Nissan Middle East will be releasing a YouTube series that delves into its past and future. Stay tuned for more exciting updates on the Armada’s heritage-inspired design and enhanced performance.
