2025 Nissan Sentra Updates and Pricing Revealed: What You Need to Know

The Nissan Sentra continues to maintain its significance within the Nissan lineup, proving to be one of the brand’s best-selling vehicles in the U.S. market. Although typically trailing behind the Altima and the Rogue in terms of sales, the Sentra has actually outperformed the Altima by 29,000 units so far this year. As one of Nissan’s most popular models, the Altima’s discontinuation may provide an opportunity for the all-new Kicks crossover to compete for third place in the sales race. However, currently priced similarly to the Sentra, the Kicks has some ground to cover before it can catch up, currently being outsold by the Frontier and Pathfinder.

In terms of updates, Nissan made significant changes to the Sentra’s design for the 2024 model year. As a result, there are minimal alterations for the 2025 model. One notable addition is the option for the middle SV grade to have NissanConnect Services for an additional $200. This allows for remote functions such as engine start and stop, door locking and unlocking, and vehicle health reports through the MyNissan app. Additionally, the SV grade can also opt for cabin tech features like a Wi-Fi hotspot. Another new feature is the Nissan Maintenance Care Program, which provides up to three oil changes over two years or 24,000 miles.

However, one aspect that has seen changes is the pricing. After factoring in the $1,140 destination charge, the prices for the 2025 Sentra and the differences from the launch pricing for the 2024 model year are as follows:

– S: $22,730 ($1,005 increase)
– SV: $23,430 ($775 increase)
– SR: $25,730 ($915 increase)

Nissan had already raised prices during the 2024 model year, so the current 2024 Sentras are slightly more affordable compared to the 2025 Sentra. In fact, the 2024 models are $180 to $410 less expensive. Additionally, $45 of the price difference can be attributed to the higher destination charge of $1,095 for the 2024 models.

The 2024 updates brought some notable improvements to the Sentra. These included a smoother-shifting Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with an idle start/stop system, resulting in a one-mile-per-gallon improvement across city, highway, and combined fuel efficiency measurements. The front fascia was also restyled, featuring new headlights, while each trim level received specific enhancements. For instance, the SV grade was equipped with new 16-inch wheels, and the SR grade was revamped to align with the Altima SR.

Under the hood, every Sentra is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. This engine power is transmitted to the front wheels through Nissan’s Xtronic CVT, with no option for all-wheel drive. Furthermore, every Sentra comes with a range of features, including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, blind spot warning, high beam assist, lane departure warning, and rear automatic braking.

Overall, the Nissan Sentra continues to be a strong contender in the affordable sedan segment. With its stylish design, modern technology features, and reliable performance, the Sentra offers a compelling option for individuals in search of a versatile and dependable vehicle. While the 2025 model year sees limited changes, the Sentra’s consistent popularity and steady improvements demonstrate Nissan’s commitment to providing quality options for consumers.
