“Alpina Unveils Hardcore GT Versions of B3, B3 Touring, and B4 Gran Coupé with Higher Performance and Aero-Optimized Design”

Alpina, the German automobile manufacturer, has introduced new GT versions of the B3, B3 Touring, and B4 Gran Coupé models. These hardcore GT models offer higher performance, aero-optimized design tweaks, and chassis changes. The launch of these new models comes just before BMW takes full ownership of Alpina next year.

The new GTs are equipped with the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six petrol engine found in the standard B3 and B4 models. However, they have received a power boost of 33bhp, bringing the peak power output to 522bhp. This increased power is delivered at higher rev ranges, between 6250rpm and 6500rpm. The torque remains the same at 538lb ft, and the power is sent to all four wheels through a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox.

In terms of performance, the 0-62mph time for each GT model has been reduced by 0.2 seconds compared to their respective standard models. The fastest among them, the B3 GT saloon, can now sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds. It also boasts a top speed of 191mph, which is 2mph faster than before.

To enhance the handling capabilities of the GT models, Alpina has made several chassis tweaks. These include stiffer damper mounts, a reinforced bulkhead for more precise steering, and a thicker rear anti-roll bar. The spring rates have also been recalibrated to improve ride comfort. The B4 GT coupé receives additional reinforcement for the anti-roll bars and recalibration of the steering, dampers, four-wheel drive system, and limited-slip differential.

In terms of design, the GT models take inspiration from the larger B5 GT. They feature canards on the front bumper, a redesigned rear diffuser, and black exhausts. The exterior is further distinguished by bronze 20-inch alloy wheels and bespoke badging. Inside the cabin, the GTs are adorned with bronze stitching, paddle shifters, and a plaque on the center console depicting the model number.

The pricing for the GT models in Germany starts at €101,700 (£85,600) for the B3 GT saloon, €102,900 (£87,570) for the B3 GT Touring estate, and €105,100 (£89,400) for the B4 GT Gran Coupé.

Overall, Alpina’s new GT models offer enhanced performance, improved handling, and a distinctive design. With their power boost, aerodynamic tweaks, and chassis enhancements, these models are set to deliver an exhilarating driving experience. The unique design elements and luxurious interiors further elevate the appeal of these GT models. Car enthusiasts can expect the Alpina B3 GT, B3 Touring GT, and B4 Gran Coupé GT to make a strong impression in the high-performance luxury car segment upon their release in late 2024.
